On the occasion of Mother's Day I would like to share my feelings after reading a posting from a colleague that really makes one ponder about the treasures of life. We came into this world with a lot of pain and suffering to our mother. We further made her life miserable with our tantrums and what-nots. When she grows old and helpless we seemed to be far from her and always not around when she needs us.
We justify this to ourselves by saying that we are already busy with our work and various commitments not to mention our own family to take care of. But at the end of it all when we really think deeply we can only conclude that we owe it all to our mother. For all the trouble that we gave her when we were small, she gave us her everything. Even in her old age she still worries about her children eventhough these children are already grandparents themselves.
I know that all of these are cliches and nothing new, but now and again it doesn't hurt to remind ourselves of our real position, and that is, we are still that child that our mother gave birth to and brought up with a lot of love and care. It is our turn to repay that love and tender care.

My Realisation
Woke up this morning with a realisation that I have to start doing something different in my life. Have I just gone through life without making any significant contribution? Will it just be another day of just going to work, eat, sleep and be merry. Or can I make an impact in somebody's life today?
I've decided to make something different. So, to begin with I'll start this blog to reflect on my journey of change. I'll have to make some deep soul searching on what I want in life. What is important to me and how would I define happiness.
After much reflection, I realise that I can get a lot of satisfaction and happiness when I can be of service to somebody, helping somebody overcome difficulty or just being helpful.
